Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment (RRD) comprises the separation of the Neurosensory Retina From the RPE , and there are breaks in the neurosensory retina.
This was taken from a 35 years old male , with Old RRD in the opposite eye and Fresh Superior Retinal Detachment in the right eye . A Giant Retinal Tear (GRT) and an Operculated Retinal Tear with overlying Operculum visible in the Vitreous are seen superiorly. The retina is very mobile and there is minimal PVR so this is PVR-A.
The patient was planned for a Combined Scleral Buckle + 3 Ports Pars Plans Vitrectomy With Silicon Oil
