A sinkhole on a Maryland road gobbled up a family's car on Tuesday morning. Darwin Mendoza was in the car with his three children when the sinkhole opened up.The sinkhole is located in Bladensburg on Edmonston Road and is due to a 90-year-old water main breaking, according to the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). The sinkhole also left the front of a separate vehicle in water from the hole. Around five nearby homes were forced to evacuate. 77 people do not have water as a result, and the two cars were cleared later Tuesday.
