The African National Congress (ANC), South Africa's ruling party, has marked its 102nd anniversary. The ANC has been in power since the end of apartheid in 1994 but will face its first election without Nelson Mandela this year. Allegations of cronyism and corruption have eroded voter confidence in Africa's oldest political movement, as millions of black South Africans still live in poverty. Mandela led the ANC to victory in South Africa's first fully democratic elections in 1994 and continued to be seen as the party's moral figure till his death. Al Jazeera's Gerald Tan explains.
