Even if you don't work with Meyer Sound products regularly, you should definitely learn MAPP 3D. In my humble opinion it is the best sound system design software out there - and it's totally free. It used to be only in 2D with MAPP XT, but now we've got it in 3D!
I've been learning it and putting it to work on the shows that I'm on, even when I'm using a different manufacturer speakers. It can still do some things that most other softwares can not. It has high resolution data. You're able to have a virtual system process or make changes and see how that reflects in the field.
You also have virtual microphones and can move them around and practice taking measurements. So if you're a beginner, there's no better environment to start learning. Let's walk through the core features and workflow of the software!
I don't work for Meyer. There's no affiliate. I'm going to get something wrong, so please fact check me if I am. This is my approach to the software and the workflow. Hopefully an addition to the fantastic resources that Meyer already has out there on sound system, design and engineering.
