Subject in a sentence is the person or thing that performs the action.
Object in a sentence is the person or thing that is acted upon or receives the action.
Subject questions in English are framed when we don’t know about the person or thing who performed the action.
Subject Question in SIMPLE PRESENT:
“Who wants some cookies?”
“We want some cookies.”
Subject Question in SIMPLE PAST:
“Who made those cookies?”
“Fred made those cookies.”
Object Questions in English are framed when we want to know about the receiver of the action.
Object Question in SIMPLE PRESENT (with do and does);
“Who does John like?”
“John likes Fred.”
Object Question in SIMPLE PAST
(with did):
“What did Fred make?”
“Fred made cookies.”
