Scientific minute: Episode 6
In this daily series I highlight novel and exciting scientific discoveries published in academic journals, in 1 minute clips. You are welcomed to suggest papers that will appear in this series. Enjoy!
Bacteria are tiny organisms that can only be seen with a microscope. A research paper published in the BioRxiv server describes a newly discovered bacterium living in the Caribbean mangroves never got that memo. Its threadlike single cell is visible to the naked eye, growing up to 2 centimeters and 5000 times bigger than many other microbes.
