Fluid Mosaic Model is the universally accepted model for the structure of Cell membrane. It was proposed by Singer and Nicholson. It describes all the properties and organisation of Plasma Membrane.
Fluid Property of Cell membrane is due to lipid molecules and there is no fix pattern of arrangement of proteins (Mosaic).
Lipids shows various movements like Flip Flop movement and lateral diffusion.
The ratio of Protein and and Phospholipid in the plasma membrane is variable.
