Here's an example of two things long bygone in television: Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler (once a mainstay of over-the-air TV), and technical difficulties moments - all in one place, as seen over WMAQ Channel 5 one evening.
This was within the opening moments of the installment "Expedition Geronimo" (the full episode, albeit with earlier opening titles - and no snafus in its presentation - can be seen at [ Ссылка ] ), about a 40-foot vessel belonging to Marineland of the Pacific and used to capture various marine animals for both display within the Marineland theme park and scientific study..
The picture cuts out about 12 seconds into this clip, but Mr. Fowler and Mr. Perkins (and pertinent background music, and the sound of whirring boats) are heard throughout, even as a slide indicating "Scheduled Service Has Been Temporarily Interrupted - Please Stand By" comes up 39 seconds later, (was this a satellite message?) and is up for approximately 27 seconds before the picture resumes and the rest of this presentation sails along (besides the Geronimo) without further incident.
Later that Fall, the show would move to airing on WGN Channel 9 as seen here:

Marlon Perkins was also featured in a commercial for the Shedd Aquarium:

This aired on local Chicago TV on Saturday, June 10th 1978 during the 6:30pm to 6:32pm timeframe.

About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:
The Museum of Classic Chicago Television's primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s and early 80s, primarily) recorded off of any and all Chicago TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical purposes. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to DVD, and to view more of the 4,700+ (and counting) video clips available for viewing in our online archive, please visit us at:
