This talk is intended to inspire a reawakening of our interests in the foundational industries, which
are germane to continual economic growth and prosperity of the world, amidst growing distractions in the information age. The talk begins with a demonstration of the importance of the foundational industries, shows how our modern world relies on their viability for success, then
emphasizes how we are not paying enough attention to them due to distractions, and the emerging consequences thereof. The talk concludes with a suggestion that special interest in the foundational industries should be a sustainability strategy across board to ensure a continual economic progress. Peter Oladipupo is a Mandela Washington Fellowship alumnus and a PhD candidate in the school of chemical engineering at Purdue. Before coming to Purdue in 2017, Peter served as the managing director for STEM-Ed Africa, a company he founded in 2014 to provide high school students in Nigeria with improved learning experience in science, engineering, and math. Peter is pursuing a deliberate innovation opportunity for his PhD program and translating knowledge to action through his newly founded start-up, PyVee Inc - a materials and chemicals manufacturing company operating in Nigeria. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
