This video is only for people with Prepayment Smart Meters!
Have ever forgotten to top-up your prepayment balance and ended up with your gas being switched off? And then when you do add money to your account you find that you've got no hot water or heating?
Well the good news is that you are unlikely to need an engineer to come out. Generally, all you need to do is reset your smart meter to let it know there is money on your account. This video tells you how and below are the written instructions:
Switch all your gas appliances off. Go to you Smart Meter.
Press either button to switch the meter on.
Then press the B button to select the gas.
You will be instructed to hold down the A button (keep it held down until instructed to release)
A message will appear on the screen saying that your gas has been initiated.
Go back to your boiler and turn it on at the mains. It will generally fire up on its own, but a 'restart' maybe needed.
Now you have a fully operational boiler again!
