⭐Important limitation: all studies are primarily in vitro (there are some animal studies that I opted not to cite: are products still cruelty-free if their ideas rely on animal research?) In vitro studies can be insightful for understanding potential mechanisms, and the technology to conduct these is leaps and bounds ahead of previous decades. That said, I do hope we see human studies - aka the gold standard of research - in the future to confirm these mechanisms translate fully to human skin.

In the meantime, most Korean brands run their own small-scale human research on individual products, which is easily found in the gallery description on Yesstyle or on brand pages. These are helpful, but note they examine results from the full product vs highlighted ingredients.
