STORYLINE
Silvio Berlusconi's spokesman said on Thursday the Italian Premier had spent a better night in hospital, four days after he was attacked by a
mentally ill man.
Berlusconi's doctor said he expected the premier to be discharged on Thursday from Milan's San Raffaele Hospital.
The premier's spokesman, said in an interview on Sky TG24 TV, that Berlusconi was "calm" when he awoke and asked to see his daily newspapers.
He said Berlusconi spent a calmer night compared to previous ones.
A day earlier, doctors said the 73-year-old media mogul still felt a lot of pain from Sunday's attack and had difficulty in eating.
On Thursday, Italian newspapers carried headlines addressing Berlusconi's state of health.
"Premier tightens the schedule, feels he is needed to work," one headline read.
The attack broke Berlusconi's nose and two teeth and cut his face and lips.
