2016 has seen Dewalt refresh and improve it’s line of cordless drills running on the 18v XR battery platform, and that includes a new drill driver, the DCD991.
From it’s all metal nitro-carburised chuck with carbide inserts, to the 3 speed gearbox, the DCD991 is truly a top of the range workhorse.
The motor is, of course, brushless, giving you longer runtimes and a higher capacity performance, with Dewalt claiming that the improved 2016 brushless motor will give you up to 34% more power to the chuck.
Performance-wise, the DCD991 hits all the right spots.
Full control over the chuck comes via the trigger and the 3 gears, taking you up to 2000rpm and a hard torque of 95Nm, more than enough for the biggest holes and the longest screws.
It comes bundled with a side handle for greater control and safety, and has a head length of just 200mm, making it compact enough for working in tight spaces.
And the LED job light has been re-imagined on this model, offering you three stages of brightness from 2.6 lumens, to a massive 60 lumens, effectively making the DCD991 double as a torch.
It’s available as a body-only unit, compatible with all of Dewalt’s 18v XR batteries, and even the new XR FlexVolt packs, which will give you even more drilling and driving capacity, plus a total of 6Ah capacity.
Or you can go for the TStak carry case option, which includes two 5Ah batteries and multi-volt charger.
It’s available now and qualifies for Toolstop Finance.
