The water in Myvatn Nature Math contains a large amount of minerals, is alkaline and well suited for bathing. The geothermal pool has a bright blue color.
Krafla is a caldera of about 10 km in diameter with a 90 km long fissure zone, in the north of Iceland in the Mývatn region. Krafla includes one of the two best-known Víti craters of Iceland.
Dimmuborgir is a large area of unusually shaped lava fields east of Myvatn. The Dimmuborgir area is composed of various volcanic caves and rock formations. The best-known is Kirkjan ("the Church"), lava tube structure.
