Today we explore the massive grounds of Gyeongbok Palace (also known as Gyeongbokgung Palace). This beautiful royal residency was originally built in 1395 during Korea's Joseon Dynasty. Unfortunately, much of the palace was destroyed during the Japanese occupation and the Korean War, but it is currently in the midst of a 20 year restoration project which will return the palace to it's original state. Nonetheless, the current palace is STUNNING! And you can easily spend over two hours walking the massive grounds.
If you love history and culture, Gyeongbok Palace should definitely be on your "todo" list when visiting Seoul.
