Authorities in Somalia are under increased pressure to ensure next month's elections take place in a safe and secure environment. On Tuesday, al-Shabaab militants briefly seized Afgooye town - before security forces regained control. At least 17 people were killed -- including civilians, security personnel and some of the attackers. Afgooye is just 30 kilometres south of the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
