Seizures and epilepsy are of two basic types either focal or partial epilepsy and other category called generalized epilepsy. Now seizure involves a part of the brain where the electrical abnormality uses a part of the brain we use the term focal or partial seizure and the same applies to the epilepsy as well. When it involves the entire brain right at the beginning we use the term generalized seizure or epilepsy. Noe seizures sometimes may not produce any symptoms at all in this case they are called sub clinical seizures.
