Video Fishing Report - Spokane River Fall
Fall fly fishing has been going here locally on our home river the Spokane. The annual draw down of Lake Coeur d'Alene and recent rains have caused the Spokane River to go up a bit, but there are still plenty of pockets and runs to fish at it's current levels.
A variety of tactics have been working, but our favorites have been swinging soft hackle, stripping streamers, and a little head hunting with dries. Hatches include a few species of caddis from black black caddis, to fall and October caddis. Bwo's have been active on the rainy and overcast days with pods of fish up feeding on them. Currents are tricky at these levels so longer finer leaders to drift freely in the conflicting seems are a must when presenting small flies. If you can't get the fish to eat a small parachute or cripple dry, try using soft hackles and swinging to the risers. Nymphing of course always gets the job done on the Spokane!
Good luck and check out our full fishing reports on our website:
