After a great night with live music in Illinois, we are heading towards the Gate to the West, St. Louis in Missouri, today. Lots of funny Route 66 "monuments" plus some "real" historic landmarks like Lincoln`s house in Springfield. After a long drive, we are crossing the Mississippi river near St. Louis, the Gate to the West.

270 miles / 440 km today - filled with a lot of small villages and then our only big city to spend the night during our entire trip.
