While scaling up your Amazon business, there are two key financial objectives that need to be at the forefront of almost every business decision: profitability and cashflow. Although these two objectives seem to go hand in hand, the reality is that often times they conflict. In many situations speed is of higher importance and so margins will be sacrificed to ensure that inventory can be converted to cash more quickly. While in other scenarios a business has surplus cash and the focus is directed toward increasing margins which may slow down inventory turnover. When it comes to choosing a shipping method for inbound shipments to Amazon FBA, the relationship between profitability and cashflow should be taken into consideration. There are only two options: small parcel delivery (UPS) & less than truck load (LTL). In this video I break down the scenarios of when to utilize UPS over LTL and vice versa.
