Pachoice’ or ‘My Lord Jesus Christ’. The hymn is chanted on other occasions with different wordings such as during Kiahk, Epiphany, Great Lent, Palm Sunday, Feast of the cross, etc…
the hymn is always chanted in the liturgy before the “Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal” & Gospel reading. It is so beautiful and rich that our church puts such an organization in place to prepare us for every occasion.
‘Paralex Hymn’
There are several meanings to this. One of these explanations describes ‘Paralex’ as a word that means ‘speak beside the point’ or ‘expand on it’, but it is more related to the tune itself where the hymn shifts from a simple free tune and to a melismatic tune (long tune) or the opposite. This is very clear when we call this hymn in Arabic ‘Mohayyar’ which means confusing in the tune from simple to complex (or the opposite). The other explanation is more related to ‘a repeating hymn, with alternation, in the same tune’ which confirms the fact that the hymn consists of several verses with the same tune
