"In a major way at the moment, we are travelling through some bottlenecks; some problems in our world which are threatening - and we have to clever and courageous about surviving them."
Anthony discusses two types of bottlenecks:
1) A clash between the new mindset (characterised by technological change, science, secularism and globalisation) and the old mindset (characterised by traditional ways of thinking)
2) Rates of technological change - it happens so fast we find it difficult to keep up. For example the complete loss of privacy, we are digitally naked, and it seems these technologies are putting us in a kind of prison - scenarios quite different from the sorts we have experienced before.
Though Anthony is optimistic that we can overcome challenges by empasising the positive aspects of humanity (empasising resiliency, thoughtfulness, creativity and kindness, and de-emphasising self-interest, greed and laziness, and propensity to believe stuff for convenience).
