Diarrhea and vomiting, known as Gastroenteritis. What is it? What to do if your child has it? Remember in majority cases it is viral and only requires you ensure your child is sufficiently hydrated. Strictly NO ANTIBIOTICS (antibiotics are required in only a very small number of cases). Also strictly NO ANTI-Diarrheal medications as they can have catastrophic consequences when given to children. A probiotic or yoghurt can be given and has been shown to relieve symptoms to some degree.
