To ensure your emergency lighting will function as expected if needed, monthly checks are advised.
The main purpose of emergency lighting is to clearly illuminate the escape routes of a building. They are also used to highlight other fire safety signs and equipment.
WHAT TO INSPECT
All emergency lighting systems should be tested monthly. This is carried out by separating the supply to the lighting circuit, thus ensuring that all lights are fully functioning.
When in test mode, the system will simulate the power being cut to the emergency lighting. When you are satisfied that all emergency lights in the area have illuminated as expected, you may switch the key back to normal mode.
Upon installation, the Churches Fire technician will demonstrate how to perform this simple monthly check using a test key.
Our skilled technicians ensure all systems are serviced to BS 5266 at least annually to ensure compliance with the latest standards.
