Rising prices are unavoidable, especially in California. The Bureau of Labor Statistics released new data showing food prices increased nearly 9% in the year that ended last month. According to the agency, that's the largest 12-month hike since May 1981. Products like eggs, flour and milk are all rising at least 11%. Bacon prices were up 18.2%. Researchers say multiple factors are contributing to increased costs. Impacts from the war in Ukraine, combined with rising energy costs, on top of crop-affecting droughts and ongoing supply chain issues are some of the reasons to blame. Although most Americans are feeling the pressure of inflation, people living in the Golden State are being heavily impacted.
