ForeFlight Checklist integrates one of the most important inflight tools at your disposal into the app you already use for every stage of flight, reducing cockpit clutter and providing an intuitive, simple interface. Checklist is included with our Basic Plus and Pro Plus subscription plans, or as an add-on with other plans.
You can access Checklist in the More view, just underneath Logbook. Tap the Plus button to set up a new checklist. Enter a tail number or tap Lookup Aircraft to select from your configured aircraft profiles, and enter a name if you want to identify the checklist with more than a tail number, such as a specific mission type like “Search and Rescue”. Tap Templates to select from a list of preconfigured checklist templates for a variety of aircraft types and configurations. You can freely edit checklists after creating them, so if your aircraft’s particular configuration isn’t listed, just pick the closest one so you have something to work with.
Each checklist has three main list groups: Normal, Abnormal, and Emergency. Within these, lists are further divided into subgroups. After opening a list, use the buttons at the bottom of the screen to check or skip items, or tap directly on an unchecked item to check it. Tapping on a checked or skipped item will clear it, allowing you to easily return to previously skipped items and check them off. Once you’ve made it through the whole list you can tap the Next button to jump straight into the next list. If you back out of a list before completing it, the progress indicator on the left shows how much of it you completed.
At any point while using Checklist, the Emergency button in the top right allows you to jump straight to the Emergency list group, saving you valuable seconds in a time-critical situation.
Other than the three list groups at the top, you can edit every aspect of a checklist to perfectly suit your own aircraft. Tap the Edit button in the top right when viewing a checklist or list to edit the items within it. You can edit a pre-existing item by tapping on it, move an item by tap-holding on the far right and dragging it up or down, and create new items using the button or buttons at the bottom of the screen. When editing lists you can add detail items to divide groups of check items or provide information not associated with a specific check, and also add notes to check items.
You can share checklists with other pilots via email or AirDrop. From the main Checklist view, tap the Send To button at the bottom of the screen. Select a checklist and tap Share in the top right to share it with AirDrop or email. The recipient can then import the checklist by tapping on it and selecting “Copy to ForeFlight”.
Lastly, checklists are synced across all the devices on your account, so any edits you make to a checklist on one device apply to all the other devices.
Like with ForeFlight Logbook, Checklist helps consolidate the tools you use every time you fly, so you can spend less time getting organized and more time in the air.
