Its diversity and remarkable beauty means that its use in modern society is both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
Plus, it is 100% renewable, not just sustainable costs less to produce than steel and concrete. And although wood is used in every building, its resurgence as our primary building material, continues as we strive to find ways to save our planet. This is because wood stores carbon, where these manmade alternatives use fossil fuels and produce harmful emissions.
Careful and responsible forestry is the route to sustaining this renewable resource. There are many more benefits to using wood. It is strong, pound for pound, stronger than steel, and extremely durable. A great insulator with excellent thermal and acoustic properties. Wood is great to work with and can be crafted for endless uses.
Cared for, wood will last for hundreds of years, and once it is finally finished with it is biodegradable helping to combat international waste problem. Using more wood and continuing to plant trees will reshape our planet, ensuring that this amazing resource is available to our children and all generations that follow.
