This pedestrian and cycling tunnel under the Vítkov hill connects Karlín (Thámova Street) with Žižkov (Tachovské náměstí). Tunnel length is 303 m, width 4,4 to 4,8 m, maximum height 3,40 m.
⛰ In fact Žižkov tunnel can accommodate 1250 people in the underground rooms and provide them with drinking water and electricity. The space in the tunnel ensures survival for up to 72 hours. In case of nuclear disaster the tunnel can be closed by massive gates that would protect the inhabitants.
