Trolleybus contact wires are crucial part of the system, and they have been a weak spot - trolleybuses had to slow down in order to proceed through the catenary switches. New modern trolleybus catenary switches are capable of ensuring the high operating speed. In this video, we explore first new trolleybus contact wire switches that have been installed in 2023 in Riga, Latvia. Trolleybuses seen on the video are Škoda 24Tr Irisbus and Škoda 27Tr Solaris.
