The Pentagon believed there was no role for Armor in Vietnam. They were wrong! M-48 Tanks, Armored Cavalry Assault Vehicles (ACAV), M113 Armored Personnel Carriers, Gun Trucks, and Howitzers played a vital role in defending Fire Support Bases, LZ, Bridges, and Convoys. They were very effective in Combat Assault Operations, Thunder runs, and Jungle Busting. Photographs in this presentation were taken by Bill Miller & Al Hogue, Recon Platoon, 2/8 Mechanized Infantry, 4th Infantry Division in II Corps, in the Central Highlands 1968 - 69.
