Puya is a former hip-hop singer, now approaching hip-pop genre in Romania, which became known as a member of the band La Familia.
Puya, Dragos Gărdescu real name, was born on July 22, 1979, in Bucharest. He grew up with three brothers in Balta Alba (White Marsh) neighborhood, learning from an early age the little "unwritten rules of the road".
He gas been singing hip-hop since 1995. The first album was released with La Familia in 1997, entitled Băieți de cartier (District Boys), and the first contract signed with a production house happened when he was 17.
