The ACS Telethon will air on April 7-8 throughout Northeastern PA and the Greater Lehigh Valley
Over three dozen acts will take to the stage for the two day event. The 24-hour telethon benefits the American Cancer Society. The program will air live on Saturday April 7th and Sunday April 8th, 2017 from 12 PM to 12 AM each day with an overnight re-telecast between Saturday and Sunday.
Acts included, singers, dancers, rock and polka bands and a karate demonstration. The line-up included many telethon favorites including Jay Smar, the Pa. Villagers polka band, St. John’s Lutheran Church (Tamaqua) Bell Choir, Shellshocked Churchhill, Blue Mountain Community Church Praise Band, Becky and the Beasts, Dr. Amy Depuy, Angela Nardini, Danny Farole and family, and many more.
Hosts for the two day event Joe Krushinsky, Bud Wychulis, Kim Bell, Jason Demarco, Maureen Donovan, Jerry Knowles , Lori Kane and Kathy Craine. The program is produced by cancertelethon.org, a non-profit cancer support organization based in Lansford, in cooperation with Blue Ridge TV13.
A Salute to Survivors segment is scheduled for Saturday, April 7 at 7:45 p.m. During this segment, survivors are introduced and encouraged to talk briefly about their battle with cancer. Individuals wishing to be part of the Salute to Survivors should check in at the front door of the Penn’s Peak auditorium by 7 p.m.
