French President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for Coronavirus and gone into isolation for at least a week.
The 42-year-old head of state first showed symptoms of the virus earlier this week, said an Élysée Palace statement released on Thursday.
It reads: "The President of the Republic has been diagnosed positive for Covid-19 today.
"This diagnosis was made following a test performed at the onset of the first symptoms.
"In accordance with current health regulations applicable to all, the President of the Republic will isolate himself for seven days. He will continue to work and carry out his activities remotely."
