This performance was recorded on 4 July 2020 on the Holland Park Terrace, marking Opera Holland Park and City of London Sinfonia's first live performance since lockdown and the onset of the COVID-19 crisis in the UK. We are enormously grateful to our singers and musicians for convening at short notice with limited rehearsal time, and managing the constraints with good humour and professionalism.
Conducted by Matthew Kofi Waldren
String Quartet formed of musicians from the City of London Sinfonia: Fiona McCapra, Clare Hayes, Katie Heller and William Schofield

About ‘Tutto è disposto…Aprite un po’quegli occhi’ from Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro
Figaro has parried his way out of trouble with his employer, the Count, been reunited with his long-lost parents, and married his sweetheart, Susanna. Now he has discovered that she is planning an assignation with the Count. He is mistaken but he is furious. ‘Open your eyes’, he sings, ‘Women are treacherous’.
