The Swanage Railway celebrated the 35th Anniversary if its re-opening as a Heritage Line over the weekend of July 12th/13th 2014.
To celebrate, the railway organised a gala event featuring four steam locomotives - including new-build BR(E) A1-class 4-6-2 No.60163 "Tornado" - one diesel locomotive and a Class 121 Bubblecar.
The full line-up was as follows...
- GWR 5600-class 0-6-2T No.6695.
- LSWR M7-class 0-4-4T No.30053.
- SR rebuilt 'West Country'-class 4-6-2 No.34028 "Eddystone" (making its last gala appearance before withdrawal for overhaul in August).
- BR(E) A1-class 4-6-2 No.60163 "Tornado" (making its debut visit on service trains instead of railtours).
- BR Class 33 'Crompton' Bo-Bo No.D6515 "Lt. Jenny Lewis RN".
- BR Class 121 'Bubblecar' No.W55028 (running shuttle services between Harman's Cross and the Main Line connection at Motala.
