On January 21st, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recommended that airlines operating Boeing 737-900ERs (equipped with door plugs on mid-exits) visually inspect their jets. It comes amid the ongoing fallout from the Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 incident earlier in the month that led to the grounding of more than 170 examples of the aircraft type.
