Ontario associate chief medical officer of health Dr. Barbara Yaffe announced three new deaths from COVID-19, two at a nursing home in the province, and a woman in her 80s in the Greater Toronto Area.
Yaffe said there were approximately 133 new cases, bringing the total to 993 confirmed cases in the province. She added Ontario will likely see the number of resolved cases go up above 200 in the coming days.
Ontario's chief medical officer of health Dr. David Williams also spoke about the recently announced usage of the province's emergency alert system to tell people returning from travel they must isolate for 14 days. He said the decision to bring in the alert now was another way to remind people it's still a measure in place.
