Sad news!!Two American climbers- Gina Marie (L) and Anna Gutu (R), who were in a tough race to be the first American woman to scale all 14 eight-thousanders, were on their final push on Shishapangma today were hit by the avalanche, where Anna is found dead along with her guide Mingmar Sherpa while Gina is missing together with her Guide Tenjen Lama.
Both Gina and Anna completed 13/14 eight-thousanders with only remaining Shisapangma to have achieved that feat.
Missing guide Tenjen (Lama) Sherpa is the record-holding Nepali climber who recently completed 14 eight-thousanders in just 92 days along with Kristin Harila, surpassing Nirmal Purja's previous record of 189 days.
