Overgrazing is caused by low-density herds left to wander in large pastures for a long time — fenced in, but not distributed the way grazers are distributed in nature...Instead of having large herds tightly compacted, weve put small numbers of animals into large pastures at low densities, for a long period of time...In nature, grazers gang up because of predators, and those gangs move around... that way, they dont overgraze.
