Turn the ignitions, and without a delay, stomp the pedal all the way and be sure to push the button behind the pedal. Then the Checkengine will blink long once, then will blink quickly in a sequence of blinks to indicate your code in a morse code manner I guess you can say.
And that is how to perform a stomp code test on an old bmw e34 in my case, works for most or all bmws before 1995, for OBD1/OBD-I cars, the exact and precise directions and steps, including starting the stomp right after turning on ignition.
