This high definition freshwater aquarium video takes a detailed look at the breeding behavior, mating, egg laying, hatching, feeding, life history, anatomy, and care requirements of the Mystery Snail. Also known as the Apple Snail, this very unusual freshwater aquatic snail has several unique adaptations that allow it to survive in extremely harsh environments that would pose a real challenge for other species.
OPTIMAL TEMP: : 18 to 28°C (65-82° F)
FEEDING : soft plant material , blanched spinach, cucumbers, zucchini, algae wafers, Snail Jello. It is important to provide an adequate supply of calcium to help them maintain healthy shells. Cuttlebone placed in the tank will help with their shell development / calcium needs. Avoid anything containing copper in their food or water as it is very toxic to all snails.
TANK SIZE: 2.5 gallons of water for each med. sized snail is a good rule of thumb.
