Mr. Kafunya Mulyasanga, from Zambia, had a diagnosis of Oesophageal Cancer in 2022. He travelled to India for better treatment opportunities and consulted Dr. Asit Arora, Director, GI & HPB Onco-Surgery, Max Hospital, Saket, Delhi, India, who confirmed Oesophageal Cancer, Squamous Cell Carcinoma in a locally advanced stage. Mr. Mulyasanga was prepared for chemotherapy and radiation, on the completion of which he underwent a minimally invasive oesophagectomy. The laparoscopic surgery removed the affected oesophagus and reconstructed the remaining portion. The patient responded positively to the treatment and has shown remarkable improvement. His appetite and diet have improved subsequently. Mr. Mulyasanga flew back home in better health.
