Intel recently announced the first details about their upcoming 11th gen Intel Core CPUs, with the codename Intel Rocket Lake, powered by their new Intel Cypress Cove cores. However on paper Intel Rocket Lake CPUs look like a step back compared to 10th gen Comet Lake CPUs, as they only have a maximum of 8 cores! And Intel is still stuck at 14nm for their 11th gen Intel Core CPUs, even while AMD is starting to show more of their 5nm Zen4 CPUs! So what is Intel playing at here with Intel Rocket Lake? Are they just admitting defeat, and Intel Rocket Lake is their last stand? Or is there a reason for some of the weird features of the upcoming Intel Rocket Lake lineup?
