There is a common conception that 24 fret guitars cannot sound "stratty" on the neck pickup, since the pickup has been been repositioned due to to extra fret.
My theory is that this probably comes from shreddy superstrats often having hotter pickups that only sound good with tons of gain.
In this video I compare a Charvel Dk24 with a G&L Fullterton Deluxe Legacy, both on the neck pickup.
These two guitars have very similar pickups, both flat pole pieces and vintage/low output. The rest of the signal chain is a Boss TU-3 tuner, Spark Booster (on for the dirty parts), then a Warm Audio DI box into my interface, where Softtube Amp Room is used with the JTM 45 plugin. The cab IR is a Celestion G12H30 55. Some delay and reverb added in post.
