Dietary intake and physical activity are the key determinants of energy balance. Understanding this delicate balance has long been a challenge for researchers. Technological advances are improving our ability to collect data on dietary intake and physical activity. The summit will address these advances, focusing on how current and new technologies are being implemented to improve and maintain positive health outcomes while also addressing challenges and limitations. In addition to discussing how modifiable determinants of energy balance can be better measured through new technology, the summit also will investigate how these new approaches might enable intervention to improve these determinants.
