So what is color temperature?
Today, we're going to be discussing color temperature in lighting for photography, film and video.

Understanding the color temperature scale, as well as the light sources associated with the scale, gives you tremendous control over the look of your image. In today's video we explain what is color temperature, as well as work through the color temperature scale and detail what sources produce different kelvin color temperature values.

When we think about the scale, we need to look at color temperature in kelvin values. We can start from a flame color temperature (1850K) all the way to monitors/TV's (up to 9500K). We also explore the primary color temperatures (5600K Daylight and 3200K Tungsten) which are most applicable to the photo/video world.

We discuss several different light sources, including: candles and fire, incandescent globes, tungsten lights, sunlight, LED lights, fluorescent lights, overcast sun, TV's and monitors.
