In this episode, Dave emphasizes the importance of the priesthood and why Christians need to decide where they stand concerning this important issue. Does the Catholic Church hold the priesthood? Is the priesthood available to anyone who simply expresses faith in Christ? Do Latter-day Saints have a legitimate claim to priesthood authority?

Note: Part of the reason Reformationists rejected Catholic claims to priesthood was because within Catholicism, only the educated clergy held the priesthood. This created a dichotomous religious society in which some people were considered “spiritual” while most others were considered “secular.” The Protestant priesthood of all believers leveled the playing field. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints differs slightly in that we do not believe in a priesthood of all believers, but all worthy men are permitted to hold the priesthood (not just a privileged “spiritual” few). It finds the sweet spot between two extremes.
