So how do you actually get to Wat Rong Khun, Thailand’s famous White Temple? Info all over the web led us to believe that this iconic structure was located in Chiang Mai, but don’t be fooled! Chalermchai Kositpipat’s masterpiece is located over three hours north near the city of Chiang Rai, and is an absolute must on your way to the highlands, the Laos border and beyond. We stayed one night in the city to get the most out of our time at the temple, and instantly fell in love with our local guesthouse — Baan Mai Kradan Hostel. To get to the White Temple from town, hop on the blue busses clearly marked at the central bus station for 20 Baht one-way.
