UPDATE: Blog post with pix & additional ideas [ Ссылка ]
The Mighty are Falling Hard this week. All brought on by new-to-my-paws vintage 1950s Archer Plastics spacemen which prompted a closer look at what I'd already had. The Glencoe Models females are harder to rat out unless cast in their frostier teal/green. They also did a silver metallic which appears dead-on identical to the vintage Archers. I recall suspicions being raised about the female in question at the time she arrived and deciding there was no way to know.
This one even seems to pass the Clink Test where you *carefully* rap one end on a firm surface. Glencoe reissues will respond with a dull click/thud, where vintage Archers should produce a high pitched clink. Ones which don't obviously pass are likely re-issues, though all three of these female figures could seem to pass if there was nothing else to compare against.
When done so the female with hands on her hips passes with honors, and she is the now only one I am confident is vintage. She has visible evidence of aging completely absent from the other silver female, which also has overpour flashing around her feet that is not usually seen on vintage Archer figures. Busted, and into the To Be Painted bin with the other Glencoes. Pretty decent fate, actually.
As for the lady in blue, one is more inclined to believe she is a recast, though I am told her color is wrong for both the vintage and Glencoe sets for differing reasons. The probability of females being modern when cast in non-metallic colors will always be more likely. I will keep my eyes peeled for an inexpensive Glencoe to compare against for a more thorough analysis, Captain.
