Itanagar faces drinking water crisis after landslide snaps main water supply system in capital city
The water supply to Itanagar has been disrupted due to heavy damages to the water supply system, including the main pipelines.
Landslides triggered by incessant rains damaged the 400 mm and 200 mm diameter water pipelines between Zoo Road and Ganga Lake on Monday night, disrupting the drinking water supply in Itanagar area.
In a bid to reduce the hardship being faced by the residents, the PHED has deployed departmental water tankers as well as private vehicles to supply drinking water to the affected residents.
